Conair ExtremeSteam Hand-Held Steamer Review

I’m so adverse to ironing that I haven’t owned an ironing board in 4 years. In a moment of desperation, I once ironed a shirt on an old laminate desk. As you can imagine, I was excited to check out an iron alternative: the Conair ExtremeSteam hand-held steamer.

So far, I’ve been impressed. The steamer is fast and works even on heavy duty fabrics like curtains. It’s easy to use to use and heats up quickly. Plus, it’s green and great for certain types of travel. Here’s what I like about it.

Some of my favorite features of the Conair ExtremeSteam hand-held steamer are that it:

  • Is intuitive and easy to use
  • Includes 3 attachments: brush, creaser, and soft cushion brush
  • Kills dust mites and bedbugs
  • Has an energy-saving steam pause
  • Dewrinkles fabric 5x faster than similar products

How the ExtremeSteam Steamer is Green

The steamer is a great alternative to using the chemical spray starch that you’d use when ironing. It also means you don’t have to take clothes to the dry cleaners, which can have a huge environmental impact. Plus, it heats up much faster than my iron — in just 60 seconds — which saves energy.

Is the ExtremeSteam Good for Travel?

Since most hotels have irons, the steamer is more practical for trips where you’ll be staying in a B&B, tent, cabin, or hostel. If you’re going on a more casual trip, but have a nice dinner planned, this steamer would be great to bring with you to un-wrinkle your dress clothes. The steamer also takes up a bit of suitcase space, so I’d recommend it mostly for car trips where packing light matters less.

The Bottom Line

For people who hate ironing as much as I do, the Conair ExtremeSteam hand-held steamer is a great option. Its environmental impact is light and it’s great for road trips and vacations where you’re not staying in a hotel.

Conair was kind enough to send me a steamer to review, but the opinions expressed are all mine. This post contains affiliate links, which allow us to provide high-quality content for free. Thanks for your support!
