Unlike in Argentina, where we encountered very few signs about trash, pollution, and recycling, in Belize we saw quite a few. Perhaps this is because Belizeans are much more dependent on the sea for their well-being than Argentineans are. In Belize, the Caribbean provides money from tourism and fishing. And there may also be more “do not litter” signs in Belize because many of the signs are homemade. (I’m not sure this would be culturally acceptable in Argentina.)

I think these signs are really cute and humorous. But I don’t think we should have to hand hold litter bugs.

My favorite sign from Belize, on Caye Caulker……
‘Betta No Litta’
My favorite is the guava tree one
I love the guava tree one. I would think that the non official ones would be more effective as well.
This is on of the many reasons why I adore Belize. Such a beautiful country!
If any of you are planning a trip there, I suggest searching Environmentally Friendly Hotels for places to stay. They have 9 Green hotels listed.
