10 Things I’ll Miss about Washington, D.C.

by Elizabeth

We’ve only been gone for two days, but I already know that as much as I was ready to leave D.C. there is plenty I loved about the city. Here are 10 things I’ll miss:

1. The Metro (D.C.’s subway system)

2. Politics

3. Washington Post (especially the Sunday edition)

4. Variety of Restaurants

5. Diversity

6. Neighborhoods (especially Eastern Market, Dupont Circle, and U Street)

7. Free Stuff to Do (like the Smithsonian Museums)

8. Walking Everywhere

9. D.C. Public Library

10. The Monuments (during the day and night)

DC often gets a bad rap, even from its own residents.

Personally I think there is much to love about the city and I completely understand why you’ll miss it.

I agree with much of your list. Today’s our last day in DC, and I’m already making mental notes of what I need to do the next time I’m in town.

I am from Belize and I am thinking about relocating to Washington DC. I have a law degree and I think Washington DC would be the best place to start over and still utilize my degree. What do you guys think?

@Monique – DC is a great place to live. But in the current economy I would be hesitant to move there, especially from somewhere like Belize as Belize is very cheap compared to DC (which is extremely expensive). There are plenty of law jobs in DC though.
