  1. I live in chicago and have to admit to shopping in the suburbs. even so, if you’re coming to chicago to visit or live, there’s plenty of free stuff to off set the sales tax: zoos, museums, parks, events, etc. etc. etc.

  2. @ scott: sometimes the suburbs are just easier to go shopping in here in dc too because if you need a lot of something (eg groceries) there is parking available.
