With the 3 ounce bottle restrictions TSA has placed on carry-on liquids, more and more people are using hotel toiletries and leaving their own at home.

Here are 4 reasons to reconsider:
- Hotel toiletries use a lot of packaging for a small amount of product.
- The product itself isn’t earth friendly. (I have yet to see paraben-free product in my hotel room.)
- They give you too much product; e.g. two bars of soap that will each last two weeks longer than my two night stay.
- Most people use some of the product and throw the rest out.
If you insist on using the hotel toiletries, consider bringing the soap and shampoo bottle home with you. Put the soap in your shower at home and refill the bottle with shampoo before your next trip.

Great reminder. There’s something appealing about using complimentary products, but it is really wasteful. And goodness knows what’s in them. So many don’t even have ingredient lists.
I agree
If you plan in advance, you can often pick up travel size versions of the toiletries you commonly use from your local drugstore, or even online. They’re small enough to fall within TSA guidelines, don’t take up much room in your bag, and you can bring back with you what you don’t use.
I agree with you 100%, so many of the personal care amenities out there today, even the “luxury” brands have very little if any regard to the environment. That’s why Unique Amenities has made a true environmental commitment with not only our products (all of our shampoos and conditioners are paraban free), but we offer solutions after the products are used.
