Coromandel Peninsula in Pictures

During the first three days of our New Zealand trip, we explored the Coromandel Peninsula, a small peninsula east of Auckland on the North Island.

The weather was perfect and the sights were amazing. But the beautiful mountains came with a price. Driving the campervan –  around the twists and turns, upshifting and downshifting from 100-45-80-25 kph, trying to avoid falling over cliffs or running into cars — was more than a tad stressful.

Despite the harrowing drive, we explored Coromandel Town, Hahei Beach, Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove, and several small towns and beaches along the way.

Here are some of our favorite photos.

  1. So, how was the flight over?

I am making the trip next year for the Rugby World Cup 2011 with my daughter who will be 7 then. I started a blog for ourselves to share with family and friends while away. We are going for 23-30 days. I have a campervan reserved already for the 23 days, but might extend if we can catch the Irish Dance Championships in NZ for my daughter.

I like the idea of sponsorship for your trip, that is fantastic! I wish my blog was more mature so I could possible look at that option. I listen to 95 BFM while at work, it is an Auckland radio station. Immersions is everything!

  2. gorgeous photos. that one of people digging on the beach is surreal.

  3. Like heaven.

  4. love that sunrise picture.
